I’m sure you don’t really care what I did with my spare bathroom. I’m sure it’s not high on your priority list. But it was high on mine, and last weekend, I did something about it.
I didn’t go crazy and paint or re-tile, even though nothing would make me happier. The paint job in both our bathrooms is, well, weird. And the tile is this awful, brown 1960s looking linoleum. But we rent this house, and I’d have to check with the landlord before I did any of that.
So I just changed the things I could change easily.
This is what the bathroom looked like:
I like this shower curtain. It has held up well through many years and several changes of residence. But let’s face it; not only does it not match the awful brown bathroom, it’s also not terribly…masculine. It’s a throwback from my bachelorette days, and I hate to subject The Renaissance Man to any unnecessary girliness (not that he complains; I just think it’s mean).
So, the sweet paisley shower curtain is in the closet now, along with my old, rather worn pink and green towels.
I originally went to Target to pick up some extra towels for the master bathroom. I did get towels for the master, but I also got a new shower curtain and turned the sorority-girl bathroom into this:
The best part of this mini-makeover is that this color scheme is the same as the one in our master bath, so I can mix and match towels between the two bathrooms. If you’re on a budget, this is a great way to save money.
Thank you Target, for having some awesome bathroom accessories!
And thank you, too, for bearing with me while I brag about my new bathroom.

Much better
Really like the new shower curtain!
Thanks! Me, too; and what’s better: TRM says he likes it. And if he comments on a shower curtain, you know he likes it
Love it!
Me too! It’s definitely more sophisticated than pink and blue paisley.
It looks great, especially for fall and winter. Maybe you could still use the paisley for spring and summer by adding different accessories so it wouldn’t be as “girlie”.
