This was the last week for the holiday challenge Elf for Health. If you haven’t heard of it, it was a six week challenge focusing on living healthy during the holidays; healthy in body and mind.
Every day there was a different challenge, and I thought I’d compile some of my favorites throughout the challenge.
Have a salad and make your own dressing. Not only is homemade salad dressing healthier for you, if you make it at home you know exactly what’s in it. No weird additives or preservatives here!
Choose a New Workout. Let’s face it, sometimes you get stuck in a workout rut. This challenge forced everyone to think outside the box and look for something totally new to them.
Eat 3 servings of veggies before 2 PM. With a green smoothie and carrot-cake baked oatmeal, I had three servings before 9 AM!
Find Three Things you Love About Yourself. It’s so easy to get bogged down thinking about the things we don’t like about ourselves, sometimes it’s hard to come up with things you love.
Write a Hand-Written Note to Someone. I wrote my Christmas cards for this challenge. The power of a written note is so under appreciated these days!
These were my five favorite challenges, although I really enjoyed all of them. If these challenges sound like fun to you, or you’re interested in reading more about Elf for Health, visit Elle or Lindsay’s sites.
Now that we’ve rung inĀ the new year in a healthy way, let’s keep up the good work! Instead of making any health resolutions, I plan to do something that is healthy for me every day. Whether it’s exercise, eat something healthy, or just take a little “me time” my year is going to be healthy and positive!

I never considered having a smoothie WITH a healthy breakfast. For me it’s either/or. Cute socks!
It’s usually either/or for me, too, but I ran 5 miles that morning and was STARVING!
